Frequently asked questions

What causes subtitles to drift instead of just being offset?

A framerate mismatch between the subtitle file and the video — for example subtitles timed for 25 fps played against a 23.976 fps video. The gap grows or shrinks the further into the video you go, rather than staying constant.

How does two-point sync work?

You tell the tool the correct time for the first subtitle and the correct time for the last one. It calculates a linear scale (speed) and offset from those two points and applies the same correction to every subtitle in between.

What if my subtitles are only offset, not drifting?
